Burundi Blocks B and D Farm-in Opportunity NOW CLOSED
Surestream Petroleum is pleased to announce the opportunity to farm-in to Blocks B and D in the Republic of Burundi, Lake Tanganyika. The two blocks of 690 and 866 sq km respectively, lie within the prospective trend of the Western Branch of the East African Rift System, on trend with 1.1 Billion Barrels of discovered oil in the Albertine rift of Uganda.
The blocks lie offshore Lake Tanganyika in water depths generally under 400m, in the shallowest part of the lake, covering the Ruzizi and Kigoma Basins. They are at a frontier stage with only a 10km grid of academic seismic available. A farminee is being sought to cover the costs of boat conversion and the acquisition of a detailed seismic grid to define prospects, as part of the work programme in the second phase of exploration of the two blocks, which will carry the blocks through to 2014-15. Drilling is planned in a subsequent phase.
Following signature of a Confidentiality Agreement, potential farminees will be able to book a day in Surestreams dataroom in Reading UK to view available data. The dataroom will be open through February-March 2012, with a bid deadline expected to be 30 April 2012.
