Surestream Petroleum awarded exploration licences in Malawi

Surestream Petroleum Limited is pleased to announce that it has been awarded new exploration licences in Malawi. It has secured Blocks 2 and 3 which have a combined area of 20,000 square kilometres and are located on Lake Malawi.
With this award, Surestream becomes the 3rd largest net acreage holder in the East Africa rift system (1st in Great Lakes).

Surestream has conducted a regional study of the east African rift and high graded the basins which have the greatest similarities to the productive Albertine basin off Uganda. Lake Malawi, together with the Burundi acreage, lies along the trend of the western branch of the rift system, the only part of the rift system to be proven productive to date.
