It is critical to understand the basin, so Surestream maximises the quality of any existing data, for example, by reprocessing the seismic data and by developing a full structural model that relates to analogous systems.

We identify where source rocks (the rocks which generate the oil) have developed and make an analysis to understand all local indications of maturity of the source rocks, including slicks and seeps.

At the same time it is crucial to identify potential reservoirs (in which the oil is stored) from outcrop, seismic and sequence stratigraphy.
